The CLSU-College of Veterinary Science and Medicine and the Hokkaido University Research Center for Zoonosis (RCZC) Control entered into a memorandum of understanding last December 9. The signing ceremony was held at the Philippine Carabao Center main office on the CLSU campus. President Ruben C. Sevilleja and Dean Romeo S. Gundran headed the party composed of CVSM faculty members. Likewise, an MOU between PCC and Hokkaido University was signed during the occasion.
PCC Executive Director Dr. Libertado Cruz and Deputy Director Dr. Felomino Mamuad led the group from PCC composed of researchers who witnessed the signing ceremony. The ceremony started with a film showing of CLSU-CVSM and PCC.
Dr. Gundran gave a welcome address emphasizing the importance of the collaboration of the two institutions in the plan to prevent and control the emergence of zoonotic diseases that would protect the public and animals as well. This was followed by inspirational messages from Dr. Sevilleja, Dr. Cruz and Dr. Hiroshi Kida, director of Hokkaido University RCZC, and after which the signing of the MOU by the parties ensued.
