Dr. Clarissa Yvonne J. Domingo, a faculty of the College of Veterinary Science and Medicine, was awarded the Best Paper Award during the Philippine Society of Animal Science’s 48th National Scientific Seminar and Annual Convention held on October 26 to 28, 2011 at the L’Fisher Hotel, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
Dr. Domingo presented a paper under the Disease and Diagnostics Category. Her paper is entitled, “Caprine and human cryptosporidiosis in smallhold farms of Aurora province.” Dr. Domingo received a cash prize of Php 5,000.00.
The convention, with the theme “Responsible Animal Production for Better Human Health”, was attended by animal scientists and veterinarians all over the country.
Dr. Domingo is currently working on several major researches of the College of Veterinary Science and Medicine as the project leader. These include the ACIAR-PCCARRD-funded research on respiratory diseases of pigs, a research on fasciolosis in cattle funded by the FAO-BAI and a research on development of test kits for gastrointestinal infections of swine, another PCARRD project .
