The College of Veterinary Science and Medicine (CVSM) was established in 1978 through the Republic Act No. 4067 enacted to law by Congress in 1964 and was effected through the Board of Regent Resolution No. 17-78 s.1978. With the establishment of CVSM, the first ladderized veterinary curriculum in the Philippines was created, and was designed to produce veterinarians who are highly skilled not only in disease management, control and prevention but in various facets of animal production as well. For many years now, the CVSM graduates have consistently topped in the National Veterinary Licensure Examination and thus, the Commission on Higher Education and the Professional Regulation Commission have recognized the CVSM as one of the Top Performing Veterinary College in the Philippines. Recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of the College, the Commission on Higher Education recently awarded to the College the distinction of being a Center of Excellence in Veterinary Education in the Philippines.
